12. Election and forming of portfolios responsible for oversight of the Plan of Action

14. Closure and announcements

The meeting was held under the protocol that it had final powers to appoint and dismiss members present or absent from any portfolio or task, to mandate members with any task, and to take any decision that will be binding to every member present or absent.

Having observed the above protocol the agenda was adopted and the meeting got underway with the Chairperson opening and welcoming everybody present in line with the first item on the agenda. The chairperson also by default submitted Ms Nkwanyana’s apology stating that although she had not requested him to do that but he saw it fit to apologise on her behalf stating academic obligations as the only thing that kept Ms Nkwanyana away from the meeting. No other apologies were submitted apart from the sentiment that the Secretary had tried to inform other members of the meeting and they chose to deliberately stay away. Under the circumstances prevailing at the time, the meeting did take place and discussed at length the issues facing the organisation. Unfortunately, we had to stop on item six as we could not continue with item seven because we were missing the Constitution. The sentiment was that we could not name an organisation without having recourse to the constitution because the constitution dealt with fundamental structures and pillars of the organisation that members had to apply their minds to. The meeting did however manage to dissolve the organisation in line with the resolutions taken on the 13th of October 2007 in UJ. Hosting the meeting on the 28th of December was intended to clash with the publication of the matric results.
